A recently released movie called “Goat” has been breaking the charts. This movie was released on Feb. 13, 2026 and has been skyrocketing ever since its release. The movie is about a goat who has a dream to play basketball in the big leagues with animals that are much larger than him. Will Harris, the goat, lost his mother and is inspired by a panther named Jett, who ran basketball and made a name for herself. She represented basketball to another level and inspired Will to pursue his dream to be just like her in future years.
Young audiences were excited for this film to come out. When the trailers came out, many people started to pay attention to it. The “Goat” movie is voiced by many WNBA/NBA stars, famous actors, and a known artist named Jelly Roll. People who play the sport were thrilled for this movie because of the involvement of the sport. Seeing the trailers made me want to watch it. The movie is produced by Sony, which has produced many viewers’ favorites.
This movie secured the number one spot in its second weekend, grossing over $100 million worldwide early in its run. The target audience was kids but it reached a whole other audience. Teens and adults have watched this movie and loved it. Teenagers who have watched this movie have said that they enjoyed it. It was funny, wholesome, and cringe.
After watching this movie I can say I agree; this movie was a mix of everything. To some people, they would say that it was cringe and fun. A kid’s movie should be like that, but to me it was not only a kid’s movie. Watching it, I picked up on them making some deep connections that only older people would understand, like the death of Will’s mom, people chanting discouraging words, bullying, and the struggles of everyday life. But even so, the movie is all around a fun, enjoyable, and amusing movie.
This movie brushes on topics children wouldn’t understand but also introduces new topics for young children. To young athletes, this movie is inspiring, as it displays the perseverance you need in order to play a physically and emotionally challenging sport. Overall though, I heavily enjoyed this movie due to its modern day touches, like social media and slang that we would all generally say. I enjoyed the lighthearted moments and the funny characters. It was inclusive and fun. I would recommend everyone watches it at least once and to just enjoy this childish amazing movie.
