The new film, “Anaconda” (2025), released Dec. 13, 2025, a reimagining of the 90’s classic franchise, features a shocking new comedic take, causing a wave of confusion around viewers. However, the shock didn’t take away from the hilarious, suspense-filled jungle adventure that fans wanted to see. It features two best friends looking to make their own sequel of the prevalent original films that they loved during their childhood. Albeit- the movie faced some criticism for the alternate genre, it still did include elements of action packed thrill. However, those who aren’t fans of comedy probably wouldn’t benefit too much from this film. Whether you’re an “Anaconda” super fan, or simply just looking for a fun movie to see with your friends and family, this film is a good option.
The film brought forth an array of different characters, each of whom have a different role in the movie. They created and offered individual characters we grew to love. It included the classic “Anaconda” with impressive effects that are a definite improvement from the originals, as well as the comedic talents from Jack Black and Paul Rudd, the two actors with experience in both categories, who add to the comedic/action ambiance.
Viewers obviously enjoyed the movie as a comedy, rather than the initial thought that the film would be a little more of a thriller. So, if any viewer’s personal taste leans more thrilling, more of the original “Anaconda” style, this film might not make it to your favorites. However, anyone who wishes to see a nice mix between funny and action might find this film just the perfect fit.
