Fruit “Love Island”. Dramatic, chaotic, and entertaining.
Love Island is a popular show on the platform Hulu. But a popular spin-off had come to the for you page of many this week. A TikTok hit, created by @ai.cinema021, filled with pure drama and chaos hit the screens. This account had millions of followers, but unfortunately, the original account got taken down after several episodes, with many viewers trying to catch up.
Rumors started spreading, as with any other trend. There was word of wasting water when producing AI video clips. AI uses a handful of water to cool down the system, validating claims of water usage. This caused controversy, with people asking how someone could use so much AI, knowing the amount of water being used behind the scenes.
This TikTok show had drawn many in, despite the controversy. Different accounts are coming up and trying to recreate the show, but no one could compare. The storyline was too similar to the real “Love Island”.
The characters in the show appear as normal fruits. Strawberry is sweet and is also the main character. She recently fell in love with two of the male fruits, Banana and Watermelon. These characters, along with countless others, will go through different challenges, while people slowly get voted off the competition.
Throughout the long time of its popularity, a new account was trying to recreate it using just art animation in order to combat the water usage. This TikTok show was one of the best to date. It drew everyone in, and that includes myself. I didn’t get to watch all of it before the spin-offs were made, and the loss of the original plot. But overall, the rise of AI generated videos, the creativity, and backlash has only just begun.
