Dearest gentle readers, as many of you know, the long-awaited return of Bridgerton for a fourth season finally arrived on Jan. 29th. In just under a week, the show rose to the very top of Netflix’s charts in over 80 countries around the world, with the latest season garnering an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes thus far. The show follows the stories of high-ranking members of society in regency-era London as they navigate the marriage market, love, gossip, and even scandal, in their search for marriage. The show’s newest season stars Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton alongside Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek.
With his older brothers Anthony and Colin already married, the eyes of the ton, as well as the favor Queen Charlotte, turn to the new man of Bridgerton house, the season’s most intriguing bachelor: Benedict. Despite the attention of the marriage-minded ladies and mamas of society, Benedict remains reluctant to find a wife. Instead, his mind remains occupied by thoughts of ventures outside of society as well as, in his mother’s words, his scandalous “rake” behavior. However, upon meeting a mysterious “lady in silver” at his mother’s masquerade ball, Mr. Bridgerton’s motives change rather quickly, and he shifts his focus to finding his true love.
A high rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes is a testament to the show’s ability to captivate audiences with its witty, romantic, and at times scandalous nature. Since the release of season 3 part 2 on June 13, 2024, long-time and new fans alike have been eagerly waiting to see what may come of the last eligible Bridgerton son left to marry. The mystery and intrigue in Benedict’s journey to find his “lady in silver” will surely keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Additionally exciting is the inclusion of classical covers of current popular songs throughout each season, and fans are sure to delight in recognizing some of their favorite songs in each episode of season 4. In just part one, the show includes “Life in Technicolor” by Coldplay, “All I Wanted” by Paramore, “bad idea right?” by Olivia Rodrigo, and the highly requested “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift, alongside many others.
The release of the newest season, however, will still entice fans to wait for more, as part 2 of season 4 is set to air on Feb. 26. For now, dear readers, you shall have to remain patient as you excitedly await the final reveal of what is to become of Mr. Benedict Bridgerton and his pursuit of the “lady in silver”.
