The Grishaverse books are finally getting a new addition as a short story. Set after “Crooked Kingdom” in the fictional place of Ketterdam, it unfolds as a mystery told through found documents. “Six of Crows: A Darker Shore” starts with the heist the crows pulled at an auction years ago.
Since then, the merchants of Ketterdam have been under attack. Secret businesses were exposed, ships sunk, and slavers were hunted. It is all the work of a mysterious sea captain and her ship known as the Wraith. The novella now follows two investigators that meet to uncover the truth of a massacre on an island off the shores of Ketterdam.
Among the evidence collected is private correspondence between notorious crime boss Kaz Brekker and an anonymous sailor aboard the Wraith known as “I.” Accompanying this new short story are new illustrations by E.K Belsher and in-world collectible items.
The announcement of this exciting new book written by Bardugo sparked a lot of intrigue and excitement from the fans of the Grishaverse. The novella is scheduled to be released June 30, 2026, and it was first announced in October 2025 during Bardugo’s tour.
After the release of “Crooked Kingdom,” the fandom went nuts over it, and begged for more over the years after the release of the television show. When the show’s new season was cancelled, they continued begging for a new book to take their minds off of their grief.
Of course, since this new book is set after the tragic events of “Crooked Kingdom,” fans are terrified to open old wounds, but are still over the moon for the release at the same time.
