Fried chicken is a staple dish in a multitude of countries and cultures. Due to chicken being so versatile, each culture offers their own process and methods of seasoning and frying chicken, resulting in a variety of different flavors and cuisines globally. In the United States, fried chicken is a staple comfort food that has inspired numerous fast-food fried chains like KFC, Popeyes, Raising Canes, and Chick-Fil-A. However, recently, I visited Jollibee’s, a fast food chain that originated in the Philippines, and was voted #1 fast-food fried chicken in America for 2024 and 2025.
Unfortunately there aren’t any locations nearby, and the closest was about 40 minutes away. However, this long drive was not in vain, as the experience was unforgettable. Upon entering, the succulent aroma of chicken filled the air of the restaurant. I ordered the 10pc Chickenjoy Bucket of half spicy and half mild chicken, while my three other friends ordered the special Katseye Bucket, a collaboration meal that features a spicy yet sweet bucket of Korean fried chicken.
My experience while eating the chicken was phenomenal; the chicken was as crispy as the media portrays it, and the taste was just as extraordinary as the crunch. Not to mention, the bucket was accompanied by their signature gravy and “Jolly Spaghetti”, which were also delicious due to the combination of sweet and spicy flavors that filled the plate. My friends were generous enough to let me try a piece of the Katseye special chicken, which was interesting to say the least. The chicken was drenched in a sweet soy glaze with a bold kick of heat.
Overall, the experience was fantastic and totally worth the drive and effort that was put into planning the trip. Social media constantly praises Jollibee’s as being the best and, after this experience, I can confidently claim that I agree with their opinions on this fast-food restaurant. I believe Jollibee’s is the best fast-food fried chicken in America and I recommend it to everyone who wishes to not only eat some incredible fried chicken, but also create some lasting memories.
