The auditorium was filled with energy and laughter as the school’s drama department took its final bow of “Mamma Mia!”. The past few months, they have been planning and setting up this lively musical. It is packed with catchy ABBA songs and heartfelt performances, serving not only as a celebration of theater, but also as a memorable sendoff for the graduating senior cast members.
Directed by the school’s theater teacher Rion Romero, the production brought the Greek island setting to life with vibrant costumes, creative set design, and seamless choreography. The crowd couldn’t help but tap their feet to hits like “Dancing Queen,” “Super Trouper,” and “Take a Chance on Me.”
“At first, I didn’t really enjoy Mamma Mia, but after planning, the cast, and overall the whole show made me love it,” Romero said.
The teamwork and dedication were evident throughout the entire show. From the lighting and sound crew to the costume designers and pit musicians, every aspect was polished and professional.

“It was all fun,” Aiden Shaffer, who played Harry in the play, said. “We all were dancing backstage.”
The senior cast members delivered emotional and energetic performances, knowing it would be their last time on the school stage.
Many in the audience were moved by the closing number, “I Have a Dream”, which symbolized the bittersweet farewell and the hopes ahead for the graduating class.
“I was heartbroken, and most of the cast was crying, it’s crazy how over 4 years this will be my last play, and it was one of the best memories I have made,” senior Alli Vandivier said.
Parents, students, and faculty packed the auditorium each night, giving ovations and cheers that echoed long after the curtain fell. It was clear that this year’s musical was not only a success but also a heartfelt celebration of community, creativity, and growth.
With “Mamma Mia!” behind them, the seniors take with them unforgettable memories, friendships, and the applause of a job well done. And for the rest of the cast and crew, the legacy left by this final performance will continue to inspire for years to come.
