Sophomore Ethan Montgomery has amassed a large following on the popular app TikTok through his many videos of him dancing and making others laugh.

“I started making TikToks because I wanted to make an impact on others, and I wanted to be something more,” Montgomery said.

Montgomery made TikToks for one week before one of his short videos of him dancing had over 500 thousand views.

“When I got so many views, it was mind-blowing and I was so in awe,” Montgomery said. “I could barely sleep, because I was so excited.”

However, Montgomery does not let this fame and excitement interrupt his school work.

“My main focus has always been education,” Montgomery said. “I think TikTok is just for on the side.”

He has accumulated over 320 thousand likes on his 46 posted videos. Montgomery hopes to reach 100 thousand followers on his TikTok account, @ethothecat.

“To become famous on TikTok, don’t have your main focus be getting famous,” Montgomery said. “If your main focus is to have fun, the views and likes will come eventually.”
