On the morning of Aug. 12, a home in Plum, Pennsylvania exploded. The explosion resulted in two other houses being leveled and several others in the area damaged. Since the incident, many houses within the area have had their power shut off and it isn’t quite known when it will be restored.
Five people died from the blast of the explosion and have been identified as Heather Oravitz, Michael Thomas, Kevin Sebunia, and father and son, Casey and Keegan Clontz. Oravitz’s husband Paul and two others were sent to the hospital where Mr. Oravitz passed four days after the incident. The other two injured civilians have since been discharged.
Regarding what had caused the home to explode, Pennsylvania’s county officials have yet to find the exact reason but have been looking into the possibilities. It is unsure as to when they will discover the cause but they have started the search by looking into the hot water tank issues the family had reported having.
