Meeting Tristyn Keller

Freshman Football Player Wants to Make Football his Career

Chris Silveira, Staff Writer

Tristyn Keller is on Oakmont’s frosh football team and would like to pursue football as a career by playing in the NFL later in his life.

“I would probably want to be on the Kansas City Chiefs, because I want to have the dynamic duo with somebody and [the Chiefs] seems like the strong team at this point,” Keller said.

Keller is inspired by Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. He wants to be part of a bond like the current offensive duo on the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill.

“I listen to rock music to get my blood flowing and gets me hyped up for the game,” Keller said.

Keller uses music to prepare for a big game. Other ways he prepares is by pushing aside stress and pressure, and working to boost his confidence.

Keller wants to make it to the NFL because he feels that his entire life revolves around sports. Other sports he plays are basketball, hockey and baseball.

“Some of the injuries I’ve taken are face masks to the arm and been hit hard,” Keller said.

Keller said that the hardest thing to overcome while playing football has been injuries.

“Football doesn’t really affect our family, it just takes time out of our personal life,” Keller said.
