The NFL season has just finished up week five, and the stakes are high with only two teams left undefeated. There are a lot of teams that are on track to make a run this year.

The New England Patriots are 5-0 this season, which is the best record in the NFL so far.

Their defense is first in yards allowed, with 238.4 yards. They have also only allowed 34 points, which is about 6.8 points per game.

The second undefeated team is the San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are 4-0 and have not gotten off to this great of a start since 1990.

The Niners are averaging 200 rushing yards per game, which is first in the NFL. Their defense is second in the league in points allowed, allowing only an average of 14.2 points a game and forcing a total of 13 turnovers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-1 so far this season and first in their division. The Chiefs are second in the league in total offensive yards, with 444.6 yards per game.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown for over 300 yards in each of their first five games. Mahomes is coming off of an MVP season where he threw for over 5000 yards, had 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, while also holding a passing rating of 113.8.

With the statistics Mahomes has put up in just these first five games, he is on track for another MVP caliber season.
