The time is coming: ski and snowboard season, many people’s favorite time of the year. There are many different resorts to take a look at this season. Here’s the important information.
Palisades Tahoe, located in Olympic Valley, CA. They officially open for the season on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 9am to 4pm. They offer lift tickets and season passes, lessons for everyone, ski and snowboarding rentals, and they also have things off the mountain like restaurants, events, and activities.
Another great resort is Heavenly Mountain resort located in South Lake Tahoe. They open for their winter season on Nov. 21, also from 9am to 4pm. They offer dining, shopping, child care, rental gear, and lessons. Along with all of this, they have summer activities as well. This includes tubing, ridge rider coaster, Hot Shot zipline, hiking Granite Peak, gemstone panning, and discovery day camp.
The next resort is Northstar California Resort located in Truckee. They open on Nov. 21, from 9am to 4pm. They offer passes, rentals and gear, mountain dining, and lessons for everyone. Northstar also has summer activities like mountain bike camp, Northstar summer races, summer adventure camp, progression on pedals, roller skating rink, golf, intro to bike park, and seasonal bike program.
Sierra at Tahoe resort in Twin Bridges, CA is next. They open on Nov. 28, from 9am to 4pm. You can purchase lift tickets, season passes, reload cards, deals and packages. They also offer lessons, rental equipment, teams and coaching, and high performance demos. They also have other events like mountain tours, and tubing.
Sugar Bowl Resort located in Norden is another option. They open Nov. 21 for the winter season. They offer season passes or day tickets, multi day packs, lessons, rentals, demo equipment, seasonal lockers, and tubing.
Boreal Mountain Resort located in Soda Springs near Lake Tahoe is up there as well, opening on Nov. 22, from 9am to 4pm. They also have night ski and snowboarding options. They have a lot of options besides snowboarding like the path, Evergreen Bowl, Eastern Sierra Skatepark, Sunnyside dirt jumps, The Trenches and their pump track, The Treehouse, lakeside parkour, MTB skill and start park, skills park, and pro airbag. They have many food options as well.
Next is Kirkwood Ski Resort, located in Kirkwood. They open for the winter season on Dec. 5 from 9am to 4pm. They offer day tickets and season passes, rentals, and lessons for all people, children to adults. They have multiple different kinds of passes to fit whatever you’re looking for.
Donner Ski Ranch is one of the smaller resorts, as it is family owned. Located on the Donner Summit, they will open early December for the winter season. They offer multiple season passes for different ages. They offer rentals for equipment and lessons for skiing and snowboarding. They do not offer group lessons, only private lessons. They also have summer events like hiking, biking, disc golf, and rock climbing.
All of these resorts are great and have a wide variety of options suited for everyone, no matter what you’re looking for or your experience. If you’re looking to ski or snowboard, have fun summer activities, or different kinds of winter passes, at least one of these resorts is great for you.
