They say that the summer after graduation is supposed to be the best summer of your life; however, I think that it depends on the senior and their plans. I interviewed a couple of our seniors to see what they are planning to do this summer and what places they recommend other seniors visit this year.
Jordan Hsu plans on spending his summer with his family. Hsu shares that he prefers the summer above the rest of the seasons. He also shares that he’s traveled to Las Vegas and recommends that other seniors visit there.
“I’m probably going to go on vacation with my family and just hang out,” Hsu said. “I’m also planning on [traveling to] LA to visit my cousin.”
Hayden Torgerson plans on spending his summer working. Just like Hsu, Torgerson has also visited Las Vegas, though he recommends that seniors visit Hawaii instead.
“I’ve been through Caicos in Hawaii, Las Vegas, and I’d say probably [to visit] Hawaii, because there’s a bunch of islands,” Torgerson said.
Calli Swensen is another Oakmont senior who has traveled to Hawaii. She says that she recommends other seniors to travel there during the summer because of the pretty views.
“There are so many pretty views and lots of things for you to do,” Swensen said. “I love snorkeling and going to watch the sunset at the beach.”
So far, the seniors are recommending traveling to different places in the United States. However, as I interviewed more seniors, answers for going to different countries began to emerge.
Alisi Tuatonga is planning to spend her summer vacation playing soccer for Folsom Lake and hanging out with her best friends.
“My summer is always taken up with soccer conditioning, so I will be pretty busy every day,” Tuatonga said. “Though I am super excited to hang out with my friends and go to the lake.”
My summer plans consist of tanning, shopping, and just hanging out with my family. I have gone to Mexico every summer since I was a baby, so traveling to Mexico this year is not even a question. Traveling to other places outside of the country is exciting because you get to experience a different culture.
