The Nintendo Switch 2 is a very big deal, and it was only given its own direct on Apr. 2, with people already awaiting its release date. Considering the Nintendo Switch 2 is so close, here are some things fans should know before its release.
The Switch 2 may be releasing in a few months, but because it was fully reworked, what new features can we expect to be in the release of the system?
The developers of the Switch wanted to make a console that functioned better than the original Switch, and they did just that. The Switch 2 will have higher resolution (4K), better graphics, and a higher frame rate compared to its predecessor. These changes will be included in both TV, and handheld modes.
All that’s needed to change this would be going to settings, and changing the resolution.
These new features are to improve gameplay, but there are still some new features that weren’t meant to enhance game quality, or how fast the games run, but are rather meant for having fun.
The Switch 2 will be adding a new feature that hasn’t been added to any other console in the past before, called “GameChat.” This new feature will be adding a fun new way to chat with friends online without having to call them from another device. This “GameChat” function can also be added upon, by the Nintendo Switch 2 camera. This camera will be sold separately for an additional $50.00.
There may be new features and accessories for the Switch 2, but what can be expected of the games and the other prices associated with the Switch 2?
The price of games for the Switch 2 will be different depending on the physical version or digital version. The physical version will be about $90, whereas the digital version will be $80 per game. That isn’t all, either. The “physical” version of the game isn’t even a game; it is a code to allow you to download the game, and isn’t an actual physical game at all. This means Nintendo would be charging fans more money for getting a code, instead of an actual game from the eShop.
Not only are the prices of the games outrageous, but the price of the console itself is also infuriating.
The day of the Nintendo Direct, they announced that pre-orders for the system would start on Apr. 9, and the price for the system was shown to be $449.99 for the Switch 2 alone, but $499.99 for the system and Mario Kart World.
The Direct had gone live on April 2, so they hadn’t had their prices updated for the tariffs, and about a day later, it was announced that they needed to delay the pre-order date for the U.S. to April 24, about a month and a half before the Switch 2 release date.
