Working at Togos for three years has been a big part of my life. It all started when my friend, Taya Alvarez, helped me get the job. I remember feeling so excited and thankful for the chance. Little did I know, this job would not only provide me with a steady paycheck, but also help me achieve my dreams of buying my first car.
At Togos, my main responsibilities include making sandwiches, cleaning, and restocking supplies and food. The work itself is pretty simple and easy to manage. I’ve always enjoyed the routine and the satisfaction of seeing happy customers walk away with their meals. The environment at Togos is friendly and supportive, with bosses who are genuinely nice and understanding. They’ve always made me feel valued and appreciated, which has made the job even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of working at Togos has been the sense of accomplishment I felt when I finally saved up enough money to buy my first car. It was a goal I had set for myself, and being able to achieve it through hard work and dedication was incredibly rewarding. Driving my own car for the first time was a moment of pure joy and independence.
However, recently things have taken a bit of a turn. The management hired a new guy who unfortunately does not contribute much to the team. My coworkers and I have noticed that he doesn’t help out as much as we’d like. We’ve brought this up to our bosses, but they seem to overlook our concerns because he’s the only one who knows how to operate the meat slicer.
This situation has been frustrating for me and my coworkers. We all work hard to keep the store running smoothly, and it feels unfair that someone isn’t pulling their weight. It’s especially upsetting when someone isn’t doing their job because we’ve always had such a great team dynamic.
Despite these challenges, I’ve tried to stay positive and focus on the aspects of the job that I still enjoy. Making sandwiches, interacting with customers, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace are tasks that I take pride in. I’ve also built strong relationships with my coworkers, and we support each other through the tough times.
But lately, the frustration has been building up, and I’ve been seriously considering quitting. It’s a tough decision because Togos has been such a significant part of my life for the last three years. I’ve grown and learned so much during my time here, and it’s hard to imagine leaving behind the job that helped me achieve my dream of owning a car.
In the end, I know I need to do what’s best for my well-being and happiness. If the situation with the new guy doesn’t improve, I might have to find a new job opportunity where I can feel valued and supported. Change can be scary, but sometimes it’s necessary for growth and progress. Working at Togos has been an incredible journey, filled with valuable experiences and lessons. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities it provided me and the memories I’ve made. Whether I stay or go, Togos will always hold a special place in my heart.
