“The Summer I Turned Pretty”, written by Jenny Han, a New York Times bestselling author, was first released in 2009. Recently, in June 2022, the novel first made a debut as a Prime series and has gained popularity since. The film series stars Lola Tung as Belly, Gavin Casalengo as Jeremiah, and Christopher Briney as Conrad. This group has made a high-standing reputation, making fans eager for the release of the new season.
In season one, Belly returns to Cousins Beach as an annual summer tradition, and is finally reunited with the Fisher brothers. Belly has had an extreme “glow up” that summer, and it certainly does not go unnoticed by the brothers. Through the season, Belly continues to slowly obtain feelings again for Conrad, making the difficult decision to part ways with Cameron. Here, things get messy as Conrad admits he didn’t have it in him to commit to a relationship.
Soon, an angry Belly develops feelings for Jeremiah Fisher, the younger brother. The season ends with the suspenseful announcement of Conrad and Jeremiah’s moms having a cancer diagnosis.
In season two, after Susanna’s passing, Belly does not return to Cousins for the first summer in years. After months of not being in contact with any of the brothers, Belly finally becomes in touch with Jeremiah once again. Jeremiah informed her that Conrad had disappeared from college during finals, which was very unlike him. Without hesitation, she offers to join Jeremiah on the search for Conrad.
Eventually, Belly and Jeremiah find Conrad at the summer house. Conrad tells them the summer house is being sold by their aunt and admits he has been working for days to save it. After a series of events, Conrad, Jeremiah, and Belly, joined by their friends, finally convince their aunt to keep the house. At the end of season two, Belly starts a relationship with Jeremiah, as she claims she is completely over Conrad.
The official season three of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” was announced to premiere July 2025. This announcement has made fans anxious to discover Belly’s final fate. Many fans who have joined teams of Jeremiah or Conrad show support for either man to end up with Belly.
Although there are no specific details, there can be many assumptions made about where Belly is now. Perhaps she has started a new life with one of the Fisher boys, gone off to college, returned home, or is now living at Cousins beach. Ultimately, the audience of this long awaited show will be at ease this summer, knowing a conclusion to this story.
