With this past dance, student government had been a bit hectic with organizing the halls for spirit week and the Oakmont dance.
Hannah Feusahrens, a student in student government, expresses that she “loves to decorate”, and that it’s even a hobby of hers. She was excited to decorate the halls and the dance. The only challenge she would face with decorating the halls would be the rain.
Peyton Gomez, another student from student government, says they were a bit worried it would affect the decorating. They “hope[d] it wo[uld]n’t be windy so it wo[uld]n’t take everything down.”
Hannah Feusahrens and Peyton Gomez both planned on participating in spirit week to excitingly show off their OHS spirit.
Feusahrens says that she was more “excited to dress in OHS gear” because she could use her cheerleading outfit, as she “loves to represent her cheer team.”
Gomez expresses that her favorite spirit day was going to be the pink-out because it was “really fun to see all the bright colors on campus.”
Gomez claims the reason they choose these spirit days was “because they look on TikTok and see what the trends are.” She knows that cheetah print has been popular, so it has become an option for one of the spirit day outfits.
Additionally, since the Super Bowl was on Sunday, it had also been incorporated into the spirit week.
Feusahrens least associates with the animal print since she never “got on the trend of the cheetah stuff”. However, she was still going to dress “in all black” to support spirit week.
Gomez would least associate with the Super Bowl theme because she “doesn’t really watch football”, but she understood “that there’s a lot of students that do.”
Gomez and Feusahrens say that it’s super fun to decorate for the rally and dance because they have a “great bonding experience” with everyone.
