Holly Jackson is a British author of mystery novels. She’s best known for the “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” series, but has written several others. For years, her target audience was young adults and teens. However, for this new novel, “Not Quite Dead Yet”, she has taken a slightly different approach.
Jackson is still doing a mystery genre with this new book, but she has decided to write her first adult mystery, which Jackson stated in her latest Instagram post.
This book will be her first title aimed for adults. Jackson said in a post, “This time, I’m really going to get you.” Jackson said she felt really attached to the main character, Jet, and she still thinks about her even after she finished writing it.
The cover has yet to be revealed and comes out in the summer of 2025.
Jackson also shared what her new novel is going to be about; Jet, the 27 year old daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Woodstock, Vermont, is violently attacked on the night of Halloween by an unseen intruder. She suffers a devastating brain injury. The doctor says that within a week she’ll suffer a deadly aneurysm. She has seven days left, and she has only her childhood friend Billy to turn to for help. Jet is determined to finally finish something, she is determined to solve her own murder.
Jackson believes this is the best book that she has written and fans are over the moon excited to get their hands on the adult thriller this coming July. Pre-orders of the novel are already up, including the signed copies from Waterstones.
Fans were even more excited to hear that the “A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder” television series is getting a 2nd season. There is excitement all around for these fans, from Jackson as well.
Holly Jackson has come far since completing her first attempt at a novel at the age of 15 years old, to now writing her very first adult novel. Fans have no doubt this new novel will be a huge success and sell a plethora of copies around the world.
