Deceased artist Juice WRLD released his final album “The Party Never Ends”, which listeners felt was not a good way to end his legacy, and were disappointed by the album.
Jarad Anthony Higgins, known professionally as “Juice Wrld”, was an American rapper and songwriter who made albums such as “Goodbye & Good Riddance” and “Death Race For Love”, which have billions of streams.
Higgins passed away from a drug overdose on Dec. 8, 2019, but his unreleased albums and singles have still been published by Grade A Productions, who Juice Wrld was signed to until recently with the release of his final album, “The Party Never Ends”.
The songs that were selected for the album were already leaked and heard by fans. The issue that the fans have with the album is that the songs that Grade A Productions released weren’t as good as the other leaked songs by Higgins that could have been chosen for the album.
“So many better songs they coulda put on there bro,” replied X user @CookedByRileyØ to a post about “The Party Never Ends”.
On the other hand, some fans thought the album was enjoyable, and weren’t bothered by if the songs that were chosen were the best or not.
“What are you talking about the album so fire needs deluxe asap,” replied X user@ MrBoss_N to a post about “The Party Never Ends”.
With the fan base split between whether the songs for the posthumous album were enjoyable or should have been changed, it comes down to their expectations.
Many fans of Higgins blame Benny Blanco for making the album worse than it could have been. Blanco helped Grade A Productions, as the head of the production for the album, to add songs. According to the community, the version of the album out right now is worse than the version Max Lord, who previously worked closely with Higgins, came up with for the album.
Many of the fans and Gabriel Guerra, known professionally as DJ Scheme, prefer Lord’s version of the album over Blanco’s version of the album.
“Benny was not the man for the job sorry,” said Guerra, to a community post about Lord’s version of the album.
A deluxe version of the album is in the process of being released and fans can choose which songs they want to see on the album. Even with a deluxe version of the album being made, the reputation of the album for many listeners is going to remain as an album that couldn’t deliver the expectations they had for it.
