Do you ever sit and wonder if “The Polar Express” will ever have a sequel? If you’re someone who would respond to that question with a, “no–not really”, we have some news for you.

“The Polar Express 2”, the long-awaited sequel of our favorite childhood Christmas movie, has finally started production.

Production was announced in early 2024, however, many people didn’t even know it’s been released. Because “The Polar Express” was made in 2014, it’s been long since forgotten about. Many people never think about it–or its new sequel in the works.

Now you probably don’t care about how long it has been in production, but you most likely want to hear the release date.

Release Date

Although information is lacking, it’s speculated that the movie will be released sometime in 2025 or 2026, or maybe even further, since they only recently started working on the movie.

We know it’s somewhat a letdown since it’s not coming out soon, but “The Polar Express”’ upcoming release is definitely more exciting than not hearing anything.

The Polar Express will be animated again, rather than it being live-action. This news is rather a bit of a letdown to some fans.

The Polar Express is disliked by some because its animation didn’t feel right, and it lost the effect of the kids being real. However, some fans adore this style of animation, due to its originality and semi-realistic looks.

Although a more specific release date has not been confirmed yet, a lot of people predict that it will be released sometime at the end of 2025, nearing the Christmas season.

The Polar Express will be directed by Robert Zebecks, starring Tom Hanks. Many people are excited for Hanks to star again because of his superb acting skills.
