The new DLC added to Cult of the Lamb has made significant changes to the game.
What is “Cult of the Lamb”?
“Cult of the Lamb” is a video game that is similar to a hybrid, featuring things like colony management and roguelike combat. The main goal is to keep your cult alive and faithful by keeping them well fed, giving them places to sleep, keeping the area sanitary, performing rituals, and completing quests. You progress the story by going on crusades, and killing heretics (enemies), all by following the roguelike style of combat. In case you don’t know what roguelike combat is, it’s the type of game that randomizes every run, changing the enemies, rooms, and items that you get.
DLC additions.
The new DLC adds a lot of new tarot cards (cards that give you certain buffs), relics (abilities that require time to recharge), and a new co-op mode, which has been the most advertised feature shown. There are also a few new quests, as well as a few smaller changes.
Tarot cards.
The developers added a good amount of tarot cards. These include a new kind: corrupted tarot cards. Corrupted tarot cards give a bonus at the cost of a debuff. These debuffs can be nullified with the use of another tarot card that nullifies the negative effects of all corrupted cards.
Relics and quests.
There were a few relics added, and a few of them require you to complete quests as a way of obtaining them. Each bishop now has a cleansed version of their relic, obtained by accepting a quest, turning them into a demon, and taking them to their temple; you either absolve them and get the cleansed relic or refuse and not get the cleansed version. They will also gain new appearances and healing wounds.
Co-op mode.
You are now able to play multiplayer in “Cult of the Lamb”, which also comes with a few other features. You play as either the goat or the lamb, with the other person playing as the opposite. Sadly, co-op is only available locally, requiring you to enable a setting and plug a controller into the device you would be using to make it sort of like a split screen.
Smaller changes.
A knucklebones table is added to your cult, allowing you to play your followers in knucklebones, and a new fleece that makes you always start with a blunderbuss. Overall, a relatively small DLC, but still nice nonetheless.
