The new season of Oakmont’s wrestling team is just around the corner, bringing more energy and enthusiasm than ever.
This October marks the start of a new season of the sport. With many of their star players graduating from last year’s senior class, people wonder how well Oakmont will perform this year, especially against their long-time rivals, Ponderosa High School.
However, numerous people are just starting their wrestling journey on the team, bringing great potential to the new season.
“We have a lot more wrestlers wanting to come in, and I feel like they’re gonna really put in the work to help,” Junior Jayden Kalb said.
Aside from new wrestlers joining, they’ve also got new coaches bringing in new techniques to improve the team.
“We’re gonna have a lot more weight training, conditioning, and it’s gonna help us build a bigger, better team,” Kalb said.
With new coaching and players, the wrestling team is getting a fresh start this year.
“We haven’t beaten [Ponderosa] in a couple of years, but I feel like this year we’re going to beat them,” Kalb said.
A good team needs great players, coaching, and chemistry to stay motivated and focused.
“The chemistry is actually really good this year. The coach has brought us really close together and it’s been really good,” Kalb said.
Overall, it seems like the Oakmont wrestling team will have a new great season, regardless of the wins or losses.
