Yet another Pokémon adventure
A pre-game look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
October 31, 2022
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the two new games coming to the Pokémon genre, but will they be different from what came before them?
Introducing Generation nine comes with a lot of changes the Pokémon community wanted to see, and along with that comes new things that the community wants to have added.
The starters follow the same format of a fire animal, usually following the premise of something fire or volcano- related, the water starter the same, usually being based on calm waters or something that has to do with an ocean animal, and the grass started to follow a land animal that is usually green.
This Pokémon game has all of that, but the starters are not original by any means. While Fuecoco does have a unique design, Sprigitito is another cat starter, similar to two generations ago, and Quaxly follows the same problem, we already have a duck pokemon in Ducklett.
Moving away from the starters, another change people are hoping for is that the game graphics quality improves, something most fans have been hoping for. However, with what we have seen in trailers, the graphics have not gotten any better, in fact, the graphics quality have seemingly gone down, lower and lower each game.
Pokémon Sword and Shield through Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have had a downgrade in graphics of all kinds, and it’s clear to all Pokémon community members who play the games. This is something that makes or breaks a game, but if it wont get better then the games will lose their touch.
The one thing that keeps Pokémon in touch is the new gimmick with every game. This game is no different with the introduction of terastallization, which will allow a Pokémon to use terro moves that will give it extra typing depending on the crystal, making for brand new type combinations.
This will give every Pokémon a new chance is the game, weak to strong, even Pokémon forgotten in the past, but that does not make it a great thing, with a little thought, this can give certain Pokémon unfair advantage over others in a way that will break the game, so we will have to see how they handle the issues coming upon release.
The games will go to all Nintendo Switches and game stores on Nov. 18, so we don’t have very long until the games releases, and with new gameplay trailers coming out every month, we can continue to feed ourselves with new Pokémon while forgetting and pushing away the ongoing issues with Pokémon.
