On Sept. 12, while dining at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Los Angeles, PnB Rock was shot and killed during a robbery directed towards him.

Ralin Allen, also known as PnB Rock, was well known for his diverse music that instantaneously gained popularity in the media. He produced rap songs such as “Fleek” and was featured in the hit song “Everyday We Lit” by Atlanta YFN Lucci.

Rock was born Dec. 9, 1991 in the state of Pennsylvania. From the young age of 19, he knew he wanted to create his own music as he was heavily influenced by Drake’s album “Take Care”.

From then on, he hit the Hot 100 Billboard on several occasions, his success skyrocketing with each song.

His latest hit, “Luv Me Again”, was released Sept. 2, which expresses romantic, loving, and conflicting themes while sounding mellow and relaxing.

During a lunch with his girlfriend, friends, and family in a small Los Angeles diner, the unidentified perpetrator held him at gunpoint, demanding Rock to hand over his jewelry.

Before any jewelry could even be exchanged, the murderer fatally shot Rock multiple times and ran out the side door to what was assumed to be a getaway car, and successfully escaped without revealing their identity.

Rock was then officially pronounced dead at 1:59pm after being rushed to the hospital suffering from his several bleeding wounds.

Continuous devastations hit Rock’s family as complications occurred regarding his funeral.

Coming from Muslim faith, Rock’s family without question wanted to keep up with their traditions. With something so serious as a death to occur, the family would like to mourn respectively and appropriately.

With that, Rock’s family wanted his body to be transported within 24 hours to his birth home of Philadelphia to be buried.

This created disputes with Rock’s family and those performing the autopsy as they desired different things.

The coroner’s office needed to perform an autopsy to help the investigation of the homicide, which would take at least 24 hours, which would conflict with the wishes of his family’s planned funeral.

Rock’s mother was also heavily against an autopsy and fought for it to not happen, however it was crucial that an investigation was held. Through an autopsy, investigators would be able to tell what gun was used as well as the type of bullets.

Ultimately, officials went against Rock’s religion and went forward with the autopsy by law and his body was released Sept. 16 as his family wanted to see him as soon as possible.

As of right now, it is unknown whether Rock’s body has remained in LA or if his body has since been flown to his hometown with his family to properly say their goodbyes.

Investigators still hope to find the villainous criminal who murdered Rock. As of now, it still remains a devastating mystery.
