Iconic and empowering musical artist Taylor Swift announced her tenth studio album “Midnights” on Aug. 28 while accepting three VMA awards.

Swift is notorious for suddenly releasing music, often without a hint or warning. Some of her more recent surprises have been sister albums “Folklore” and “Evermore”, which were released in July and Dec. of 2020.

Not only has she been occupied with writing new music, Swift has re-recorded the entirety of two of her previous albums, “Fearless” and “Red”, as well as a couple of tracks from “1989”.

The albums also include additional tracks that are considered “From the Vault”.  Swift added the moniker “Taylor’s Version” to these re-recordings, as she can officially say she owns them herself.

While re-recording music and creating new masterpieces, Swift had also been dealing with backlashes from her current struggles, such as the “Shake It Off” lawsuit that began in 2017. Even through her struggles, she is still pushing to fulfill her passion. If anything, having to juggle all of these things could be a contributing factor to her writing.

For those who didn’t attend or watch the VMA’s that Swift hosted, she posted the announcement on social media including the release date, number of tracks, and a description of what inspired her to write the album.

Swift announced that the 13-track album is set to be released on Oct. 21.

“ …the stories of my 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life,” Swift said in her “Midnights” tweet.

Based on her post, the album appears to suggest feelings of strong emotion, contemplation, and dejection, with a hint of hopefulness. From this, listeners will know to anticipate a theme, which isn’t extremely dissimilar to previous albums, as Swift has included storylines that may or may not relate to herself..

This album, however, seems to have a more personal touch to it, as it reflects strictly on nights she’s experienced.

Along with the post, Swift gave a brief description that went more in depth of what the album will bring.

“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” Swift said in an image included in her tweet.

The singer is especially recognized for her tear-jerking, incandescent music with meaningful messages interwoven throughout the lyrics. She brings her music to life in a way where one feels completely and utterly sucked into the story.

Swift has always had a passion for expressing herself through writing music.

This album will be a huge accomplishment for Swift, as she has been successfully releasing music since her debut album in 2006. Since then, she has transformed the lives of so many people and will continue to do so as this next album comes to life.

Fans everywhere are able to preorder “Midnights” with the link that is attached to her posts and bios across all social media platforms. Three special edition album covers for “Midnights” are available for preorder as well, which she proudly showcased on Sep. 1.

October is definitely an exciting month for fans who will forever and always be excited for new music from Taylor Swift, as she has yet to disappoint.
