On Friday at Astroworld eight people were killed and close to 300 people were injured.

 

Astroworld is the rapper Travis Scott’s annual music festival held in his hometown Houston, Texas.

 

This year 50,000 people attended Travis Scott’s concert.

 

According to Entertainment Weekly, 11 people were put in cardiac arrest during Scott’s performance, around 300 people needed medical attention and so far eight people have been confirmed dead. 

 

According to ABC 13 News in Houston, the eight deceased have been identified. They are:

 

John Hilgert, a 14-year-old boy from Houston

Brianna Rodriguez, a 16- year-old girl from Houston

 Jacob Jurinke, a 20-year-old man from Illinois 

Franco Patiño, a 21-year-old man from Illinois

 Axel Acosta, a 21-year-old man from Washington

Madison Dubiski,  a 23-year-old woman from Cypress

Rodolfo Peña, a 23-year-old man from Laredo

Mirza Baig, a 27-year-old woman from Houston

 

On Scott’s Instagram story, he stated that he and his team are investigating more about the situation and the people who were injured. 

 

According to another Instagram post made by Rap, Scott is covering the funerals for the deceased and is refunding all the Astroworld attendees. In addition to that Rap stated that he canceled performing in Las Vegas on November 13, 2021.
