Alex Trebek sadly passed away on November 8, 2020 after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Trebek was most known for his role as a host for American game show “Jeopardy” since 1984.

“Jeopardy” is one of those shows that you can never get bored of while getting relevant knowledge.

Alex Trebek was not only a game show host, but an author as well. He published four books: “The Jeopardy! Book: The Answers, the Questions, the Facts, and the Stories of the Greatest Game Show in History,” published in 1990, “The Jeopardy! Audio Book,” published in 1990, “The Jeopardy! Challenge: The Toughest Games from America’s Greatest Quiz Show,” published in 1992, and his most recent before passing, “The Answer Is . . . : Reflections On My Life,” published on July 21, 2020.

Mike Richards, executive producer of “Jeopardy,” describes what Trebek did in his final day before passing.

“Even in his book, he described that he wanted his final day to be sitting on a swing with his wife, Jean, and watching the horizon,” Richards said. “He got to do that.”

Trebek filmed what would be his last episode of Jeopardy just 10 days before his passing. It will air Christmas Day in memory of him.

Fans have recently started a petition on Change.org to have Levar Burton, host of children’s show “Reading Rainbow,” to be the substitute for the upcoming seasons of “Jeopardy.” Burton found out about the fan-made petition and sent a positive response via Twitter, “Even if nothing comes of it, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your love and support!”

However,Jeopardy” will never be the same without it’s forever host Trebek.

It is very upsetting to hear that someone that I would always watch during my childhood pass away. It adds on to the list of unfortunate events that have occurred throughout 2020.

Alex Trebek will truly be missed by all.
