Oakmont cross country dominates FVL
Cross Country team secures five league titles.
Last Wednesday, the Oakmont cross country team victoriously took five league titles, which for many of them, was the most rewarding part of the season.
“The best part of the season was discovering what our team could do together and accomplishing the goal of winning league,” sophomore Psalm Catanglan said.
The triumph, however, could only be achieved through the motivational mentality and disposition of the entire team.
“I think what influenced our team to take first was the motivation of each other, as well as our mindset,” sophomore Kadie Kong said. “Having a supportive team and coach definitely helped.”
On November 9, the league champion teams will take on subsections in hopes of extending their season.
“After league, we have to continue to train harder so we can make it to sections and try our best to qualify for state,” sophomore Peyton Fischer said.
The cross country teams hopes they can continue to bring the hard work and motivation that enabled them to win league to sections.
“Being league champs is a great feeling because we put in hours of running every week and all the work paid off,” sophomore Lois Sison said. “This is the first league win in a long time.”
