Ever since Lane Bacchi was younger, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life, which was to become a teacher.

“[I have] loved coaching and tutoring students since I was little,” Bacchi said.

Mr. Bacchi went to American River College, and later transferred to UC Santa Cruz to get his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and his master’s degree in education. He graduated from college in 2013, and then immediately started his teaching career.

At his previous school, Mr. Bacchi coached frosh basketball, and is now the girls’ varsity and junior varsity tennis coach for Oakmont.

“I love building connections with students inside and outside of the classroom,” Bacchi said.

This will be Mr. Bacchi’s seventh year as a teacher. He will be teaching IM3, credit recovery math, and IB HL math.

In his free time, Mr. Bacchi enjoys listening to music and staying fit by playing basketball, tennis, or going to the gym. He also enjoys going to Sacramento Kings games whenever he has time.

“[My advice to students is] to stay motivated and work hard,” Bacchi said. “Eventually, you will find something you are passionate about and truly enjoy.”
