The 2019 Oakmont Athletics Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, March 15 at Morgan Creek Golf Course. It is simple to form a team, or be added to one, and compete in a 9-hole, shotgun golf game that starts at 3p.m. The winning teams, along with those who have the longest drive, and are the closest to the pin will be awarded while all the proceeds will be going to help fund Oakmont Athletics.

“The OHS Athletics Golf Tournament is an event created and still maintained by former Athletic Director Coach Dean Perkins,” current Athletic Director John Hunter said. “It’s a fundraiser for Oakmont Athletics to help supplement our gate money and our district provided funding so we can provide programs and all the bells and whistles to all our athletes that we possibly can.”

The Golf Tournament is a fun way to raise more money for our Athletics Program. Families and/or friends can form their own team, or choose to be added to a team to compete in the 9-hole game. Tickets are up for sale now on the Oakmont High School website and cost $55 for a single golfer, $110 for two, $165 for three, and $220 for four golfers.

“One of the fun parts is being able to visit with former coaches and players and interacting with people in maybe a different way than we do here everyday… but also learning the history of Oakmont,” Hunter said.  “This school has a rich history and when you go to these events you meet people who have really contributed to shaping this school’s proud and long history and tradition in this city.”
