The girls Oakmont lacrosse team has gotten a new coach. She has been described as passionate and is dedicated to teaching discipline to her team.
Ally De Caro, the new girls’ lacrosse coach, has a lot of experience. She grew up playing lacrosse, as De Caro said she “started in sixth grade, playing at Oak Ridge High School, [and was] a four year varsity player.”
De Caro said that the reason she is coaching here at Oakmont High School is because after “five years playing in the east coast”, she decided to come back and get a new job. She reached out seeing if they had a spot for her, and soon she started coaching at Oakmont.
It is important for her to help the team with their skills, getting their fundamentals straight, and getting a routine down for them. De Caro said that when she looks at her athletes, she is looking for “someone who is coachable and can implement any information, whether it’s good or bad.”
She thinks the girls are enthusiastic, that they are really eager to learn, and that they have potential and believe in themselves. De Caro also expressed that she hopes to give “them a better season than they have in the past with a good stable coach.” All of these aspects get her excited for the season.
De Caro said she “loves to coach the girls lacrosse”. She hopes that the team will continue going strong with her coaching. She also voiced that it’s “incredible to show the girls that it’s not just [a] black and white game, it’s all types of colors [and] shades.”
