On Sept. 3, 4, and 5, SacAnime convention was held in Sacramento, California at the Sacramento Convention Center.
SacAnime is a semi-annual anime convention for fans to come together and share their love for anime shows, cartoons, and video games alike.
According to SacAnime, they view the convention as a place where “fans come to play.”
At this year’s convention, some of Oakmont’s very own Vikings definitely went to play, representing their favorite anime.
Oakmont senior CJ Douglas cosplaying as Tomie from the series “Tomie” on Friday, the first day of the convention.
“My main intent was to go alone to experience it with an open mind and experience what I wanted to experience,” senior Aaron Serquina said. Here, he is pictured cosplaying as Rem from “Re:Zero.”
“While it was sort of boring at times for the lack of interesting panels, there were a lot of amazing people and cosplayers that made up for it,” junior Isabel Henderson said.
Here they are cosplaying as Chica from “Five Nights at Freddy’s.”
“I went to have fun and experience it for the first time,” junior Morgan Lagge said. “I've been to conventions before, but never one where I could cosplay and enjoy myself.”
